Get to Know Ms. McGee

Ms. Megan McGee-Heim is excited to join the North Penn School District as the Director of Special Education. Ms. McGee-Heim received her Bachelor’s Degree from Holy Family University and began her teaching career in 2007 as a special education teacher in the Centennial School District. Within this role she served students with learning needs in an inclusive co-taught environment. During her time in the Centennial School District Ms. McGee-Heim earned her Master’s Degree from Holy Family University in Advanced Practice of Special Education with the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Autism Endorsement. With this expertise Ms. McGee-Heim transitioned into her most rewarding role as a teacher of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

As an administrator Ms. McGee-Heim has supported all areas of the Kindergarten through post 21 continuum working in both the Great Valley and Pennsbury School Districts before joining the North Penn School District. Within these roles Ms. McGee-Heim supervised programs in gifted education, special education and programs for more specialized learning needs. Currently Ms. McGee-Heim joins the District with more than 6 years of administrative experience in working with IEP teams across the continuum. In addition to certifications in Elementary and Special Education Ms. McGee-Heim holds her Supervisor of Special Education certification as well as her Superintendent Letter of Eligibility. Ms. McGee-Heim is currently working toward her Doctoral degree in Special Education at Gwynedd Mercy University. Additionally Ms. McGee-Heim has worked as an adjunct professor for the last ten years at both Holy Family University and Delaware Valley University working with graduate level students seeking Special Education certification and the PDE Autism Endorsement.

Ms. McGee-Heim is an advocate for ALL learners and prides herself on her ability to work with teams to problem solve and collaborate for the betterment of students and families. She couldn’t be more proud to be a North Penn Knight!
