What is cultural proficiency?

  • Institutionalize cultural knowledge."

Cultural proficiency is essential in establishing a positive school climate so that students, parents, staff, and community members from a variety of cultural, ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds can interact with and learn from one another.

The cultural proficiency efforts in North Penn School District are guided by a committee led by Dr. Jenna Mancini Rufo, Assistant Superintendent, and Dr. D'Ana Waters, Principal of Hatfield Elementary School. The committee is structured around the four major cultural proficiency goals. Click here to view the district-level committee.
